The Wine-of-the-Month is the 2008 Petite Verdot from Alia Winery in Snohomish, WA. Made from 77% Petite Verdot, 13% Cabernet Savignon and 5% Malbec grapes from Columbia Valley, this big, bold red pairs perfectly lamb, pork, ribs or burgers. Too bold to be introduced prior to having been aged for 9 years, this balanced masterpiece has aromas of violet, cherry and herbs. Customers have commented that this wine pairs perfectly with Cougar Gold cheese, as the taste of both are enhanced! John Olsen, WSU Class of ’86, has produced only 12 cases of this wine, now available at Washington State Connections at 15% off.
