Our Wine of the Month is the 2014 Chenin Blanc from L’Ecole Vineyards in Washington’s beautiful Walla Walla Valley. Started by WSU Home Economics grad Jean Ferguson in 1983, L’Ecole was one of the state’s first artisan, family-owned wineries, and has earned international acclaim for producing consistently expressive and distinctive wines. L’Ecole’s Chenin Blanc is a spectacular summer wine that has notes of minerality and honey, lending itself to pairing perfectly with chicken or fish on the grill. We have found that it is particularly tasty when paired with anything containing the summer’s first harvest of basil (Pesto chicken/shrimp, or perhaps a fresh Caprese salad!) Pick up a bottle or two at your local WSU Connections store at 15% off; ask for a chilled bottle to enjoy tonight!
