December ’16 Wine of the Month

Our Wine of the Month for December is the 2014 Blended Learning VSP Syrah.  The Viticulture students at the new Wine Science Center produced this fantastic Syrah using grapes from the world famous Red Mountain Hedges Estate Vineyard.  Using a process widely used in Pacific Northwest vineyards, the grape vines are vertically trained along a wire trellis with the leaf canopy at the top to shade the fruit.  The wine is drinkable right now, and hits your palate with an intense aroma and taste of ripe blueberries, with undertones of spice and black pepper.  It is the perfect complement to Balsamic Roasted Pork Tenderloin, or – of course – a sampling of Cougar Gold cheese!

The wine is available at all Washington State Connections stores at 10% off the regular price of $30.00.
